Abstract
This study aims to investigate the performance of using a low cost thermal imaging camera in vibrothermography inspection. In vibrothermography process, the thermal imaging camera is used to monitor temperature distribution on specimen and the thermal images are captured in different time frame. The used vibration frequencies in vibrothermography are based on both local defect resonance and non-local defect resonance. From the results of thermal images, the differential temperature between defect location and healthy location from vibration with local defect resonance frequency was higher than vibration with non-local defect resonance frequency. The differential temperature between defect location and healthy location varied between 0.1ºC - 0.3ºC for vibration with a local defect resonance frequency which was in the range of temperature sensitivity 0.1ºC of thermal imaging camera. While vibration with non-LDR frequency had the differential temperature between 0ºC - 0.1ºC.
